KidLife exists to assist parents in teaching their child who God is in a nurturing and safe environment.
At Beacon Baptist Church, we refer to the portion of our campus set aside for our children as KidLife. The goal of KidLife is to partner with parents to assist in developing godly children who know Christ as their Savior and desire to serve Him with their life now and in the future.
We have classes available for all children birth through fifth grade. You will find a safe, secure environment where every volunteer is concerned with the well being of your child. To ensure a high level of safety, each of our volunteers has been background checked and approved through a screening process.
To ensure the safety and security of your child, we have implemented a system called KidCheck. The parent/guardian of each child must create a profile for their child before they are placed into a classroom. This insures that our volunteers can contact you during the service should the need arise. It also allows us to know about any specific needs of your child regarding allergies. You can create a KidCheck account once you arrive at the church, or you can take care of this step ahead of time by creating a profile online.
For children ages zero – two years old, a pager will be issued to each parent when dropping off their child in the classroom. This pager will be used to contact the parent in service should a need arise.
Our KidLife rooms are divided according to the age/grade of the children. Please note below when classes are available for each age group. On Sunday nights, all 1st-5th graders are expected to sit with their parents in the worship service.
On Sunday morning at 9:30 AM, every child attends a Sunday School class that is structured as a parallel to their grade in school. The small groups allow for a maximum interaction between the teachers and the students and every class is structured to promote a positive learning experience. After Sunday School at 10:30 AM, it’s time for Kid Church. This is a time filled with exciting stories, fun singing, Bible teaching, and great activities that make church enjoyable and practical for every age.
On Sunday night at 6:00 PM, we have child care for children birth through age two and an exciting program called Kid's Time is for all three year old through K-5 kids. A lesson is taught that reinforces what your child learned during Sunday School. Also, your child will enjoying singing songs, playing games, and doing crafts all while in a safe, child-friendly environment.
On Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM, we have classes for children of every age called Growth Groups. The class schedule includes singing, Scripture memorization, story time, a Bible lesson, and activities to reinforce the Bible teaching. The lessons are specifically designed to build character and leadership values in the children. On the first Wednesday of the month, the three year olds through K5 get to sing in the adult service a few songs that have learned. The first through fifth graders sing on the fourth Sunday of each month during the evening adult worship service.
Vacation Bible School
For a week in June, we host an evening Vacation Bible School for all four year olds through fifth graders. These are exciting classes and services with songs, games, and lessons that teach how to have a relationship with Christ and grow as a Christian.
Each month, an opportunity is available to our fourth and fifth graders to learn how to invite people to church and share their faith. An email is sent out to parents announcing when this will take place each month. This training and soul winning time is called Junior (4th-5th) Visitation. Additionally, other various fun activities are planned throughout the year.
Every fall, we host an Upward soccer league for children ages four years old through fifth grade. Our Upward soccer league provides an opportunity for your child to grow physically and spiritually as each team is coached by our own church members. Registration for the league begins in May followed by evaluations in July, practice beginning in August, and games in September and October.
At the end of October, a festival is held in our gym for all children fifth grade and under. This festival is designed for our church and the community to have an opportunity for their children to have a safe, fun atmosphere to dress up as their favorite characters and enjoy some games and candy. Children will enjoy cotton candy, inflatables, and games. We also have a cakewalk for everyone to participate in.
Each summer, rising fourth through sixth graders have an opportunity to go with our church to a week long camp, Harvest Time Bible Camp, in Ellenboro, NC. This is a week full of fun games and activities as well as Bible teaching that will challenge all of those in attendance.
Pink Bouquets is a three-year program written and operated by ladies of our church. The program is points-oriented and has different stations to which the girls go for training. The Break Out and Rotate Sessions allow the girls to earn pins in devotional, homemaker, and senior service areas.
